EDIBLE DOGWOODS

We have selected these unusual and hard to get Dogwood varieties for their delicious fruit. Our dogwoods are beautiful small ornamental trees with attractive summer foliage and fall color. Many American gardeners plant dogwoods for their ornamental beauty, but in Russia and elsewhere they are prized for their heavy production of delicious fruit.

ABOUT CORNUS MAS
Also called "Cornelian Cherry", it is a beautiful dogwood that produces heavy crops of bright, oblong, sweet, juicy, aromatic fruit that makes delicious preserves. This small tree or large shrub grows to 12' tall  and lights up the late winter with masses of yellow blossoms on bare twigs. In the fall, the foliage turns bright red and yellow. Plant 8' apart or 3' apart to make a 8-10' tall hedge. Somewhat self fertile, plant two varieities for better production. Will fruit in 2-3 years. Fruit ripens in September. USDA Zones 4-8

ABOUT CORNUS KOUSA
Grows to 12' with attractive disease resistant ovate leaves that turn scarlet in fall. Enjoy the large showy white flowers in late June. Pick the crop of round bright edible red fruit in October. Space 10' apart or 4' apart and make a stunning 6-8' hedge. USDA Zones 5-8.
