Raintree Nursery's Garden Center Information

We invite everyone to visit our Garden Center. Attend our Classes & Workshops. Shop in our Garden Center for interesting supplies and plants not found in our catalog. Enjoy a walk through our greenhouses.

Specimen size Plants at Our Garden CenterTOO LARGE TO SHIP Because each tree and shrub is in a good size pot with soil, they are too heavy and expensive to ship. You need to come to our Garden Center near Morton Washington and pick them up.
While most of our plants will fit in a compact car, you will need a van or pickup for our large specimin plants. If you bring a pickup, please have a canopy or a tarp because these trees of course are growing and have leaves that would be damaged if driven home out in the wind.

trees

January through May is the optimum time to plant bare root fruit trees and berries. We dig our trees in December once they lose their leaves and go dormant. We then relocate them to our cold storage facility which keeps them in optimum condition. Many of our plants, including our fruit trees, are bare root and kept in cold storage, so please be patient while our staff retrieves them for you.

Amazingly, the trees listed throughout the catalog can be wrapped to fit into a compact car. If you want to pick-up our larger balled & burlap plants remember to bring a van, trailer, or pickup truck and remember to bring your tarp. If you need a tarp, one can be purchased one in the Garden Center. We have many plants that are not listed in the catalog; be sure to ask about them when you visit. We also have a seconds area. They range in price from $2 to $10. Unlike our regular trees, seconds are not guaranteed.

(Note: We hire fruit hobbyist who live within commuting distance for weekend work. Call if you're interested.)

Catalog & Garden Center Plant Availability Back To Top

Most plants are available from January through June. During the main season of mid January through mid June we have most of the plants listed in the catalog. For more information, see our reasons to visit the nursery.

SUMMER AND FALL AT THE GARDEN CENTER. Many plants are available from June through fall. While bare root fruit trees aren't available for shipment in the summer and fall, we have lots of fruit trees potted up for sale at the Raintree Garden Center. Each is in a biodegradable pot. This enables the tree to be planted, pot and all, throughout the summer and fall.

During the summer we pot several popular varieties (many but not all) of apples, pears, plums, cherries, peaches, apricots, quince, mulberries, persimmons for pick-up at our Garden Center. Because we can't ship them, you can email or call us for availability! If we don't have a variety available in the summer or fall we can reserve it for you at the nursery and send it to you next winter.

In the summer and fall, in addition to the fruit tree varieties, we also pot a variety of blueberries, raspberries, alpine and musk strawberries, currants and gooseberries, we have many others available in pots at the nursery.

Some nut trees, ornamentals, and other unusual plants are potted and available at our nursery, so give us a call for availability: 360-496-6400.
