Most of our wine grapes are grafted on 3309 rootstock. This rootstock allows the grapes to ripen earlier in the season and imparts extra cold hardiness. Note that we are offering several new wine grapes that produce a top quality wine and consistently ripen in cool summer areas including the Pacific Northwest. Due to Idaho state regulations, we are no longer able to ship grapes to Idaho.
(Gamay Noir x Reichensteiner) This variety is of Swiss origin and makes a very early ripening red wine. It does not gain high sugars, but has low acids when ripe, making it an excellent grape for blending with higher sugar, high acid juice.
These small blue Concord type grapes are so productive and easy to grow that they should be thinned the first few years to prevent overbearing. They are the best for juice and good for fresh eating. They ripen early in the season and are hardy to an incredible minus 50 degrees F. Shipped directly from grower.
