Grown is optimum conditions they can reach 60' tall and can form a crown up to 30 ft. wide. Date Palms grow slowly in Northern climates and can be a beautiful patio plant in a container for many years. It prefers dry conditions and full sun. These Date Palm plants should be hardy to zero and have survived -15 degrees F. These plants, selected for their hardiness, do bear edible fruit however of lower quality than commercial dates.

It can grow in the deep South and up the west coast as far North as the warmer parts of Western Washington. It also grows well in a pot indoors in colder areas.
